Developing Parallel Forms of a Psychological Distress Measure
For her honours thesis, Evangeline worked on developing parallel forms of a psychological-distress measure for repeated, transdiagnostic assessment. Grounded in the general factor of psychopathology (the p factor) and the Hierarchical Taxonomy of Psychopathology (HiTOP), the project treats psychological distress as a parsimonious transdiagnostic target and tackles a practical problem in intensive longitudinal designs: the biases introduced when the same items are re-administered to a person over and over. Building equivalent alternate forms is a step toward measuring distress repeatedly without the confounds of item memory and practice.
