The Moderating Role of Social Support on Personality Disorder Dysfunction

For his Master of Clinical Psychology research, Lucas examined how maladaptive personality traits (from the DSM-5 AMPD and ICD-11) relate to perceived social support and psychological distress. In a sample reporting ongoing mental-health difficulties, he found detachment predicted lower perceived support, and that perceived support and personality dysfunction sequentially mediated the link between antagonism and depression.
