Development of a Scale to Examine Responses to Bodily Sensations

For her Master of Clinical Psychology research, Katherine developed the Bodily Sensations Response Scale (BSRS) to measure how people cognitively, emotionally, and behaviourally respond to everyday bodily sensations. Across two studies (Ns = 297 and 284) using exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis, she identified interpretable Defeat and Acceptance response styles — with the Defeat subscale tracking heightened interoceptive awareness and depression, anxiety, and stress severity.
